Graphic card generally called as a graphics adapter, video card or graphics accelerator. The graphic cards are two types which are 2D and 3D Accelerator Cards.
Displaying a representation of a scene using two reference axes (x and y) is done using 2D Accelerator Card. Displaying a representation of a scene using three reference axes (x, y and z) is done using 3D Accelerator Card. It is a computer component which it can converts digital data into a graphical form the output is obtained on monitor screen. Graphics card plays a major role of sending pixels to a screen, as well as a variety of simple graphical manipulations which are carried out in fraction of seconds such as Moving blocks using cursor, ray tracing, polygon tracing, etc. Graphic card needs a translator take binary data from the CPU and turns it into a picture. Unless a computer has graphics capability built into the motherboard, that translation takes place into on the graphic card.
